2008
has been an exciting year for World Zone, seeing its major expansion
into Vietnam reach new heights. The opening of our new flagship
showroom in Ho Chi Minh City allows us to better serve the large
number of our customers who buy our Vietnam products.
Nestled
in a beautiful park setting with over 10 acres of grounds, the
new showroom allows us to display a much wider variety of product.
Only 30 minutes from the major hotels in District 1, we are conveniently
located for any trade visitors.
During
this past season saw very rapid expansion of our business with
very large retailers, whose complex supply chain requirements
call for large, experienced teams to handle. We have also overseen
an increase in the amount of product development we have done,
and grown into new market segments, such as the fast-growing 'poly
rattan' area.
2009
will see a much stronger emphasis on our Vietnam showroom as a
sales platform. A survey of our most influential customers tells
us that trade shows are becoming less important venues, at least
in their dealings with us. Typically, we have already had our
sales meetings and gone through several product development rounds
by March each year, and the business for the coming year is normally
set just before or after the summer holidays.
