more than a century, Malaysian forests
have been systematically managed for
sustainability, enhancing climatic stability
and ecological balance. Starting in
1901, with the appointment of the first
forest officer and resulting in the,
now, Malaysian Timber Certification
Council MTCC operates under the International
Tropical Timber Organization’s
(ITTO) criteria and indicators for sustainable
management of natural tropical forests,
first set in 1998.
